Playgroup - Term 3 2019

2/08/2019

Playgroup is a service offered in conjunction with individual sessions to families with babies and toddlers from birth to three years of age who are registered at our centre. Sessions are held fortnightly on a Tuesday from 9:15 to 11:15. We have separate playgroups for Babies and Toddlers. We offer Auslan classes prior to Baby Playgroup at 9am and within the Toddler Playgroup.

There is an additional Auslan Playgroup weekly on a Monday. The Auslan Playgroup is a playgroup for those parents who would like extra support in developing their Auslan skills. The playgroup will accommodate families with varying skills in Auslan; the intended outcome is the development of proficient Auslan skills.

Playgroup provides opportunities for children to develop their social, physical, cognitive and language skills in a safe environment. A variety of activities are offered to encourage children to explore, experiment and interact with children and adults. These sessions also offer unique opportunities for parents to meet and support each other in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

We also include information sessions so that parents have the opportunity to learn more about hearing loss, child development and support services.

Opportunities are available to meet with therapists and teachers to answer your questions and discuss your child’s progress.
